We are a Mom Doula Duo, who are passionate about birthwork and connecting with families within our community. Emily, inspired by supporting her sister’s pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum journey, completed a Birth Doula training with DONA in 2023. She has 2 young children of her own and believes that this is a special time in life when getting exceptional and nourishing support can change and empower everyone in the family. Emily has a masters degree in education, has taught young children and adults, she is certified as an Reiki practitioner and a Mind-Body Human Design Reader. She enjoys engaging in the arts, nature and diving into anything that is connected to self-discovery.
Kara’s first birth in 2018 sparked her interest in Doula work; witnessing and supporting humans during a very special time. She has since completed labor and birth training with the UVMMC volunteer program and ProDoula, postpartum doula training with Cappa and postpartum and infant care with ProDoula. She worked with the Vermont Doula Company up until the birth of her 2nd child in 2022. Kara has a growing love for birth work and is so honored to share in that experience with her clients. Kara lives in Burlington with her partner and two boys and enjoys walking and biking by the lake, hiking and crafting.
